Update from Jon Whitcombe, Trust Principal -

Secondary Statement

As you will be aware, the DfE has stated that Year 10 and Year 12 students will receive some “face to face” contact with their teachers during Term 6. Currently, we are awaiting guidance from the DfE as to what this means in practice.

Once the guidance is published we will develop our plans and make the necessary arrangements. On June 1st we will write to you explaining what “face to face” means in practice and we will be in a position to confirm when this will commence.

Please note that the current arrangements for online teaching for Years 10 and 12 will continue until further notice.

Clubs and Activities

Extra-curricular clubs and activities

All pupils at the Whitstable School are encouraged to actively participate in a range of different clubs from the very start of their time with us.

Teachers provide a range of activities designed to appeal to all tastes. Activities include STEM (science, technology and maths), a film club, school show, debating clubs, football, music and trampolining. If there is something you are interested in, just suggest it and we’ll see if we can accommodate your interests.

Here’s a copy of what term 4 looked like:

Music Tuition

If you want to learn a musical instrument we have tutors who come into school and give private lessons (paid for).  From guitar and piano to voice lessons we offer a varied selection.  For more information speak to Mr Richardson our Head of Music.

These lessons are held during the school day and to ensure you don't miss the same class every week the lesson times will vary.

School Shows and Productions

Our drama, dance and music departments put on regular shows throughout the year.  All pupils are encouraged to get involved and we hold auditions.

From singing, dancing and acting to stage production, sets and lighting there really is something for everyone to get involved with.
