The school day and getting around

What does a school day look like?

Each day is broken up into 6 lessons.  The pips will sound to let you know when a lesson starts, ends or if it is break or lunch time.  You will move between different classrooms for each lesson so you will need to make sure you pack up your bag and take everything with you to each class (if you do happen to lose something we keep all our lost property at reception so pop there at break or lunch to see if you can find it)

Below is a timetable similar to what you will be given so that you can see what a typical week will look like.  Your timetable will be the same every week so you will soon get used to remembering what you have every day.

^ Values may be a new subject to you. It explores the world around us and asks us questions such as, ‘How do I fit into the world?’ or ‘Am I responsible for my own mental and physical health?’

Getting around

The Whitstable School may be a lot larger than your primary school, but don't worry all of our new pupils say it doesn't take long to help them find their way around.  To start with you may want to use a map that we will give you (like the one below) and that's ok.

Our staff and other pupils are always on hand to show you the way if you feel a little lost.  Don't worry, just ask.

We have created a video so that you can look around the school site:
